A fugitive who officials say stabbed a college student to death got married and managed to hide for more than a decade.

Now, the U.S. Marshal’s want to talk to the woman believed to be Jihad Amir Ramadan’s wife and other relatives who may know where Ramadan’s been hiding, some of whom have Georgia ties.

Ramadan, 30, allegedly stabbed a Virginia-based Hampton University student in 2005 and then went to New York to avoid arrest, U.S. Marshal spokesman Chris Leuer said in a news release.

He was legally born Justin Faustin, but his family changed it to “Jihad Amir Ramadan” as an alias.

Though multiple warrants had been issued for his arrest, he got married in 2007, Leuer said.

Ramadan’s last known residence was in New Rochelle, New York, but Leuer said it’s possible he fled the country and has a new identity.

In addition to Georgia, officials believe relatives in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, Florida and California may be helping Ramadan hide.

Ramadan also has ties to Trinidad.

He is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and 175 pounds.

The U.S. Marshals are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the U.S. Marshals communications center at 1-800-336-0102.
