A former Jonesboro youth minister was sentenced to three decades in prison Friday for molesting a 9-year-old family member in Henry County.

Brandon Rogers, 35, was convicted of four counts of child molestation and one count of invasion of privacy, the Henry County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

He previously served as the youth minister for The Chapel in Jonesboro, according to the pastor, who testified against him at trial.

When his victim was 15, Rogers set up a cellphone in her bathroom so he could record the girl getting into the shower, authorities said.

He was given a 60-year-sentence with 30 years behind bars and the remainder on probation, prosecutors said. Rogers must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
