The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating a fire at a Florida business that the owner said was caused by a man who tried to blow up his business.

The fire happened Tuesday morning at the Hale Intermodal Trucking company off Edgewood Drive in Jacksonville's Paxon neighborhood. It transformed the skeleton of a tractor-trailer into little more than charred metal, blown out glass and buckled doors.

Neighbors captured photos as firefighters worked to put out the flames.

Peppers said that this ex-employee took oxygen torches and lit both the trailer and himself on fire. Peppers said he received a bizarre phone call from the man on Monday, saying he was going to light up his business.

Peppers never expected the threat to come to fruition.

The injured man was taken to University of Florida Health with life-threatening injuries. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. It took firefighters 25 minutes to put out the fire.
