Flowery Branch police are seeking the public’s health in finding the person who fatally shot a 39-year-old Hall County man Saturday.

Police Chief David Spillers identified the victim as Rico Bledson, saying police found him lying on the front porch of a house in the 5600 block of Chinook Court with a single gunshot wound to his chest. He died later at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

“We have a lot of leads that we are pursuing,” Spillers said. “But we don’t have anything that I would characterize at this particular point in time as being a good solid lead. But it’s very early.”

Spillers said anyone with information about the case can call Flowery Branch Police Investigator Robin Kemp at 770-967-6336.

Police were responding to a report of a suspicious person Saturday evening when they found Bledson, Spillers said. The chief has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for help with the case.

“They have certain technology that a lot of police departments don’t have access to,” he said, “so we did request the GBI very early in the investigation and they were very gracious to respond and provide that assistance.”
