A Florida woman is accused of hiding her miscarriage from a Minnesota couple that had plans to adopt her child.

According to WTVJ, 31-year-old Carrie Cutler allegedly took over $13,000 in food, rent and medical expenses from the couple, Todd and Alyssa Holmstrom, while leading them to believe that she was still carrying the child that they expected to adopt.

Cutler sent the Holmstroms messages saying that she was carrying a healthy girl, but when the couple arrived in Tampa for the baby's delivery, Cutler told them that her doctor  miscalculated her due date, deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Cutler had miscarried the child seven months earlier, in August, but the Holmstroms didn't suspect that Cutler was lying because she is heavyset, deputies said.

Following a three-month investigation, Cutler was arrested Wednesday in Tampa and charged with two counts of adoption fraud. She was transported

Cutler was arrested at about 9:50 a.m. on June 8, 2016, at a Budget Inn Motel in Tampa. She was arrested on a Pinellas County warrant for two counts of Adoption Fraud. Cutler was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail without incident.
