Kenneth Mote, 57, was in an accident at 6:20 p.m. Saturday. Police said  he told officers he'd had two beers, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported. Mote's girlfriend told officers that he had "been drinking all day and had consumed more than 18 Natural Ice beers."

According to police, officers discovered three children — ages 14, 12 and 3 — inside Mote’s wrecked vehicle. When Mote was taken to the police station, he told officers that his Breathalyzer reading “was going to blow up (the device) because he had so much to drink.” Police said Mote blew 0.204 and 0.206, both of which are more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Mote was charged with DUI causing damage to personal property and three counts of child neglect.
