A Florida man was arrested for the 34th time early Sunday after he led deputies on a high-speed chase, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff's office received a bulletin about a stolen car and spotted the vehicle at about 4 a.m. driving at speeds near 110 mph near the interstate, the sheriff's office said on its Facebook page.
The driver, Sam Luciano, 39, fled from the car when deputies pulled it over, and he ran into a muddy, wooded area. The sheriff’s office set up a perimeter and found Luciano just before 5 a.m.
Luciano was booked into the Martin County Jail on charges of felony drunk driving, grand theft of a motor vehicle an resisting arrest, the sheriff’s office said. He had been arrested 33 times before on charges including burglary, robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drugs and causing serious injury or death by failing to stop.
