A felon and gang member was found guilty of murder three years after he and two accomplices entered a woman’s home, shot her son and killed her husband.
Anthony “Uno” Rucker, 24, was also convicted on aggravated assault, aggravated battery, armed robbery, burglary and weapons charges in the deadly January 2014 shooting, Fulton County District Attorney police adviser Dexter Bond said in a release.
According to a police report, Rucker bought a Snickers from Patricia Finch at her southwest Atlanta home, where she sold candy in the neighborhood. Hours later, he returned to the home with two accomplices.
Patricia Finch’s son, Zaccarie Printup, opened the door and was immediately shot in the stomach, Bond said. The men then forced themselves inside the home and went to the Finchs’ bedroom where Rucker shot Patricia’s husband, Tommy Finch. He later died from his injuries.
Bond said Rucker then pointed the gun at Patricia Finch and held her hostage while the other two men stole three cellphones and two televisions. Police said the men also took an unknown amount of money.
A neighbor heard the shooting and called police, according to the report.
Police were able to track Rucker down through one of the stolen cellphones he gave to an ex-girlfriend.
Rucker has had run-ins with law enforcement since 2011, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. He has been jailed on robbery and drug charges.
Under Georgia law, Rucker, a recidivist, is required to be sentenced to life in prison without parole at his Oct. 2 sentencing.
