A Fayetteville teen has been charged in the stabbing death of his uncle, police said Tuesday.

Officers responding to a domestic argument in the 300 block of Sylvan Loop about 8:15 p.m. Monday found David John Quincy III bleeding from several stab wounds, Fayetteville police Lt. Mike Whitlow said in an email.

Quincy was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, where he died.

Whitlow said that based on evidence at the scene and witness statements, detectives arrested the victim's 17-year-old nephew, Mustafa Mahdi, and charged him with malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault.

"Quincy had come to the resident to help Mahdi and had offered to allow Mahdi to live with him," Whitlow said. "Mahdi and Quincy became engaged in a heated argument and Mahdi began stabbing him."

Mahdi is being held in the Fayette County Jail.
