Police are investigating after the body of a 27-year-old father of two was found in his driveway early Sunday in Gwinnett County.
Officers responded shortly before 2 a.m. to a person-shot call in the 1100 block of Horizon Parkway in Buford, spokesman Benjamin Finney said.
The victim was identified by police as Nathan Jones.
Jones’ wife, Crystal, told Channel 2 Action News that she and her husband had just pulled into their driveway when she heard five or six gunshots.
She didn’t realize her husband had been shot until she saw him lying between cars in their driveway.
“It was really pitch black,” she said. “I didn’t see anyone.”
The couple’s children are 5 and 4 years old, Channel 2 reported. They were in the house when the incident happened.
Police currently have no information on suspects, Finney said.
“It is unknown how the suspect or suspects fled the area after the shooting,” he said.
