Griffin police are searching for a man they said shot and killed a 29-year-old Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 400 block of North Eighth Street shortly after 2 p.m., the department said in a Facebook post.

They arrived to find Charles Alsobrooks of Griffin shot multiple times. The 29-year-old was rushed to WellStar Spalding Regional Hospital, where he died.

Police later determined Alsobrooks was shot by 23-year-old David Blalock Jr., and took out arrest warrants charging the man with murder, authorities said.

They also charged the suspect’s father, 41-year-old David Blalock Sr., with hindering the apprehension of a criminal and tampering with evidence, police said. The elder Blalock turned himself in on Saturday morning, Griffin police said.

His son is still at large, however, and authorities believe Blalock Jr. is armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call Griffin police at 770-229-9911.
