A Flowery Branch man has been jailed on a murder charge after a man he allegedly punched in a Braselton restaurant/bar Thursday later died, according to multiple news reports.

David Allen Digiacomo, 40, also has been charged with aggravated assault and obstruction of law enforcement, according to Ryan Sears of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.

Digiacomo allegedly punched Clint Ali, who was 34, from behind in Jack’s, a restaurant and bar on Ga. 211, according to reports. Ali fell to the ground and later died at a local hospital. Digiacomo was booked into the Barrow County jail early Friday.

Ali and a friend were at the bar, and another pair of friends, which included Digiacomo, were also at the bar, Braselton Assistant Police Chief Lou Solis told accesswdun.com.

Digiacomo's friend apparently had been in an altercation with Ali. The friend allegedly mentioned this to Digiacomo, who went up to Ali at the jukebox, according to the report.

"And Digiacomo walks right up to Mr. Ali and just sucker punches him,” Solis told accesswdun.com. Solis also said police viewed surveillance video of the incident. “There were no words exchanged.”

The bar where the incident happened is near a gas station that Ali and his family owned, according to reports.
