Suspect in custody after threat closes elementary school

A man was arrested in Alabama in connection with a threat that prompted officials to close an elementary school Friday in Coweta County, officials said.
Newnan Crossing Elementary School was closed because of a threat against a staff member, Superintendent Steve Barker said in a post on the district's website.
Robert Joseph Antonello was taken into custody without incident about 5 a.m. Friday in Mobile, Ala., Newnan city spokeswoman Gina Snider confirmed. The suspect’s last known address was in Houston.

Antonello has been charged with terroristic threats and acts, Newnan police Chief Douglas “Buster” Meadows said.
Meadows was the one who notified Barker of the threat Thursday evening. No other schools were affected.
Newnan Crossing Elementary will reopen Monday, the district said.
