An eighth-grader was arrested after taking a knife to a DeKalb County middle school Thursday and briefly chasing other students, school officials said.

No students were injured, Lithonia Middle School Principal Debra Phillips said in a letter to parents.

“The student is not at the school and will be held accountable through the district’s Student Code of Conduct and Georgia law,” she said.

DeKalb schools police made the arrest.
