East Point police are looking to identify a rape suspect accused of attacking a woman last week at a Motel 6.

East Point police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect accused of raping a woman last week at an area motel.

Officers responded to the Motel 6 on Virginia Avenue about 3:30 p.m. June 7 after a woman reported she had been sexually assaulted, police said in a news release.

The woman said the suspect came from the third-floor stairwell, but it’s unclear if he had a room at the motel.

He is described as 6-foot-1 and weighs approximately 300 pounds, East Point police said in a Facebook post. He was last seen wearing a black cap, a blue surgical mask, a dark T-shirt, gym shorts and sandals.

No additional details about the case were released. Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to call East Point police.
