An East Point jail guard was fired and arrested after being accused of having sex with an inmate, authorities said.

Dallis Cash, of Fairburn, remains in the Fulton County Jail without bond on two felony counts of sexual assault by a person with supervisory authority, jail records show.

East Point police told Channel 2 Action News the city learned of the allegations against Cash on December 14, and he was fired later that day after both he and the victim allegedly admitted to having sex. The city then called in the GBI to investigate.

Documents obtained by the news station show that both crimes allegedly took place on the same day.

Under Georgia law, it is illegal for a person of authority, such as a police officer, teacher or doctor, to have sex with someone under their care, employ or supervision.

The GBI obtained warrants for Cash’s arrest on May 20, and he was arrested two days later.

Cash declined to comment to Channel 2 about the allegations.
