Three people were arrested after a drug bust at a popular Paulding County barbershop, the sheriff’s office said.

The arrests of Charles Brown, Darryl Floyd and Michael Strong on drug charges were the result of a months-long investigation into Kingdom Kutz Barber Shop in Hiram. Authorities suspected the business was being used for drug and other illegal activities.

The GBI, the sheriff’s office and the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force executed a search warrant April 4 and found Brown, Floyd and Strong “hanging out” in a wooded area behind the Macland Road business, officials said.

Agents also found a semi-automatic pistol, more ammunition, accessories for other weapons and a host of drugs, the sheriff’s office said.

Brown, 53, was charged with possession of psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine and cocaine charges. Floyd, 28, faces a charge of possession of cocaine. And Strong, 36, was charged with possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine.

“This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely to follow,” the sheriff’s office said.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force at 770-646-9175.
