A man who was shot in the head while driving on I-20 Friday morning has died, Atlanta police confirmed.

Rodrigo Castillo, 33, of Mableton, was shot just after midnight while driving his Silver Volkswagen Jetta in the westbound lanes near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Atlanta police told AJC.com. Police said multiple shots were fired.

Castillo was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, and he died late Friday night, police said.

The incident closed multiple I-20 lanes for about two hours while investigators collected evidence. Police have not determined a motive or identified any suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
