Driver charged with vehicular homicide in pedestrian's death

A driver has been charged with vehicular homicide after allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian.

The driver was charged Tuesday with failure to yield and second-degree vehicular homicide, Atlanta police Officer Donald Hannah confirmed.

That driver’s name has not been released.

Baraka Sentmore, 42, was hit about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the corner of Piedmont Road and Morosgo Drive, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner.

She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Police secured the scene and temporarily diverted traffic, Hannah said.
