Melissa Trickle, 40, got into an argument with her boyfriend at 7:27 p.m. on Wednesday at the couple's home, the Bradenton Herald reports. Deputies said Trickle and the man had been "dating for several years" and had lived together for the last one.

According to deputies, Trickle approached the man when he was trying to leave the living room so he pushed her to the ground "because he believed she was attacking him." Deputies said Trickle followed him into the kitchen and struck him in the arm with a plate of spaghetti that she threw.

Trickle told deputies that "the plate slipped from her hand." She was charged with domestic battery.
