A Brookhaven woman was discovered on fire, while she was sleeping in bed Saturday morning, the DeKalb County Fire Department told Channel 2 Action News.

Someone at the apartment complex located on the 3000 block of Clairmont Road discovered their neighbor was on fire and was able to extinguish it and call 911, DeKalb Fire Capt. Dion Bentley told Channel 2.

The woman was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with burns on 60 percent of her body, Bentley said.

He said the only things on fire in the home were the woman and her bed, and the building did not suffer any damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
