DeKalb County police are investigating after a man was shot and killed Wednesday evening at a Lithonia home.

The shooting took place about 8 p.m. in the 1400 block of Stoneleigh Hill Road, authorities said. The victim was identified Thursday as 27-year-old Kyndre Whipple, according to police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent.

Detectives interviewed possible witnesses and searched the area for surveillance cameras that may have captured the incident, police said at the scene.

According to investigators, Whipple and multiple suspects were involved in an argument just before the fatal shooting. The suspects drove away from the scene after shooting the man, Vincent said, but authorities have not released a description of the vehicle.

No other information has been released.
