Two DeKalb County parents were arrested Tuesday after their 1-year-old boy died from a prescription overdose at their home earlier this year, authorities said.

Rachelle Rattrey, 24, and Tabares Tony Wadley, 26, both of Decatur, face charges of second-degree murder, second-degree child cruelty and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The child was found unresponsive when authorities responded to a 911 call at a home off Bermuda Run Court, the news release said. In March, a search warrant was executed that allegedly found numerous prescription drug containers on the floor of the home along with the marijuana.

On June 25, the sheriff’s office obtained the warrants for Rattrey and Wadley. They were arrested at the county’s magistrate court and booked into the DeKalb jail, where they remain without bond, records show.
