After a six-week search, the DeKalb County parolee accused of shooting a woman nine times has been apprehended.

DeKalb County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cynthia Williams announced Friday the arrest of Joshua Isaiah Seals, who had been sought since the Aug. 29 domestic incident that led to aggravated assault and false imprisonment charges against him. Williams said Seals was arrested in the city of Atlanta but declined to provide further information.

Few details have been released about the shooting, but authorities named Seals as the suspect and asked for the public’s help finding him about a month after the incident.

Seals, 25, was on parole after his May 5 release from prison, where he’d served 13 months following a conviction for aggravated assault.

He is being held at the DeKalb County jail, Williams said.
