Drug charges in Gwinnett County led to a murder suspect’s arrest in connection with a shooting at a Clarkston gas station seven months ago.

The GBI on Friday arrested Mumin Hajiege at the Gwinnett jail, where he had been since Sept. 7 on unrelated drug charges.

Hajiege, 29, of Grayson, was involved in a March 17 fight with another man at a Texaco in the 3900 block of East Ponce de Leon Avenue, GBI spokesman Bahan Rich told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an email.

At one point, Hajiege pulled out a 9mm gun and fatally shot Ernest Tyrell Bing, 40, of Alpharetta, warrants allege. Bing was breaking up the fight between Hajiege and another customer, the AJC previously reported.

Aung Oo, 27, of Clarkston, was also injured by the gunfire.

Hajiege is now in the DeKalb jail on charges of murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
