The GBI is looking for a man who was at a DeKalb County gas station at the time of a shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

“Do not approach or attempt to contact this individual,” the GBI said in a statement. “Anyone with information as to the identification of this person is asked to contact the Clarkston Police Department or the GBI.”

The man, who was captured in surveillance images released Monday, was at a Texaco in the 3900 block of East Ponce de Leon Avenue when “a fight occurred between two patrons of the store,” the GBI said.

A third person, identified as 40-year-old Ernest Tyrell Bing of Alpharetta, became involved in the confrontation and was shot. A customer not involved in the fight was wounded, too.

He and Bing were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. Bing died at the hospital. The customer, who was shot in the arm, was treated and released.

“This is an active homicide investigation,” the GBI said. “... The person depicted in the photograph ... has pertinent information and is in need of being identified.”

Call Clarkston police at 404-296-6489 or the GBI at 770-388-5019 if you have any details on the shooting, officials said.
