DeKalb deputies arrest fugitive wanted in slaying

DeKalb County sheriff’s deputies said Friday they arrested a fugitive wanted on a murder charge.

Jerrell Deante Shorter was taken into custody as he left a College Park apartment building, the sheriff’s office said. He was wanted in the Oct. 22 shooting death of Dewayne Martin on Oakdale Road in Decatur, Deputy Cynthia Williams said.
