A Coweta County man was arrested Friday after a cyber tip led authorities to discover pornographic images and videos involving children on his computer, authorities said.

Justin Lee Teal, 36, faces 10 counts of child sexual exploitation and one count of probation violation, online jail records show.

The investigation began when the sheriff’s office received a tip from the GBI about possible images involving children on Teal’s devices. Deputies immediately searched the man’s home after discovering there were two children living there, according to Investigator Jason Brooks, a member of Coweta County’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

“A GBI agent reached out to me and updated me with some intelligence that there were children in the house,” Brooks said. “So we escalated an operation for later on that night.”

A warrant was obtained and a quick search of the man’s Newnan home revealed multiple images and videos of child pornography, Brooks said. His computer was seized and sent to the GBI’s crime lab for analysis.

A small amount of methamphetamine was also discovered during Teal’s arrest, Brooks said. Additional charges are possible.

Teal remains held at the Coweta County Jail without bond, records show.
