Mayhem broken out Wednesday in a popular tourist area of San Francisco, Pier 14 along the waterfront. First, a woman was shot to death in an apparently random shooting, while strolling with her father and a friend.

Then, a KTVU cameraman and reporter were pistol-whipped and robbed during a live report about the shooting.

The camera operator was pistol-whipped and said he thought he was going to die when the armed robber approached him from behind and put a gun to his head.

The crew was reporting on a woman who was randomly shot and killed while walking with her father and a friend along the San Francisco waterfront.

Witnesses took photos of the suspect and a Texas man on parole, Francisco Sanchez, was arrested a short time later and jailed on suspicion of murder. No reason was given for the shooting.
