Couple charged with sexual torture after sodomizing man with bird feeder pole, garden hose

Sept 15, 2016Two east Alabama residents are charged with sexual torture after allegedly sodomizing an acquaintance with a metal pole and a garden hose.
The Gadsden Times reported Wednesday that Dustin Lee Bragg, 34, and Barbie Gordon Vaughn, 49, both of Ohatchee, were drinking with the victim at their home Sept. 3 when the victim fell from the porch and onto a bird feeder and dog feces.
The man reportedly undressed to clean himself of the feces, at which time Bragg and Vaughn are accused of shoving the bird feeder pole and hose inside of him, the newspaper said. The assault caused severe internal injuries that left the victim in critical condition.
Investigators told the Times that both Bragg and Vaughn gave statements that corroborated details of the case. A search warrant executed at the home also uncovered a pile of burned materials, including a mattress, that the pair tried to get rid of to destroy evidence.
Both suspects are being held at the Calhoun County jail.
Bragg was already a registered sex offender at the time of the assault. Details in the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s sex offender database show that he was convicted in 2004 of the rape and sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl.
He was released from prison in 2013.
