A couple accused of stealing more than $100,000 worth of Amazon packages intended to be delivered before Christmas remained in the Clayton County jail Friday.

Deputies pulled up to 43-year-old Ronald Durden’s home and saw him and girlfriend Stephanie Ford, 38, unloading goods from a truck that belonged to Durden’s job at MMD Express, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Truck owner Herve Delva told Channel 2 that Durden, who also goes by James, and the truck were missing for two days before he reported it stolen.

“I hired someone and apparently they were a bit shady,” Delva said.

At least six pallets of gifts were found inside the truck during the December arrests.

Authorities told Channel 2 many of the gifts were supposed to be delivered to Griffin and Alabama.
