A North Georgia woman was arrested for allegedly stealing a check and ended up also being charged with trafficking methamphetamine, authorities said.

Kathy Lynn Loggins, 48, of Cleveland, allegedly stole a check from an 80-year-old woman, wrote it for $950 and deposited it into her own account in March, according to a news release.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office arrested her May 3, but only nine days after that arrest authorities pulled her over in the 5500 block of Saddle Club Drive because her license tag was not registered to her vehicle, authorities said.

One ounce of meth, clonazepam, oxycodone and a glass smoking device was found in her possession, authorities said. The prescription medications were allegedly not in their original containers.

The estimated street value for that amount of meth is more than $2,800.

Loggins was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of clonazepam, possession of oxycodone, drugs out of the original container, removed/defaced ID or license tag, ID theft/fraud, exploitation of an elderly person, fourth-degree forgery and theft by taking misdemeanor, authorities said.

She was booked into the Hall County jail. No bond has been issued at this time.
