A man accused of firing shots at security guards inside a College Park nightclub has died, police confirmed Monday.
Mathias Moreland, 31, of LaGrange, fired several shots Sunday at the Backstage Atlanta on Godby Road, Channel 2 Action News reported.
“The gunman did fire his weapon in the direction of the establishment and at security personnel, leading to the security guards returning fire,” College Park police Lt. Lance Patterson told the news station.
Moreland was struck in the head and died Sunday morning from his injuries.
No other details were released.
