Cops: North Georgia man drove 2 kids while under the influence of drugs
A North Georgia man faces several charges after allegedly driving two children while under the influence of drugs, authorities said.
Jason Ray Parker, 48, of Hoschton, was pulled over on Clover Mill Drive near Ga. 124 by deputies Thursday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Deputies said he was “under the influence of some type of drug,” and there were two juveniles in the vehicle with him.
Methamphetamine, marijuana, oxycodone and possible THC oil were found during the traffic stop, the release said. The Division of Family and Children Services was notified about the children.
Parker was arrested on two counts of endangering a child by DUI, one count of DUI, possession of meth, possession of oxycodone and obstructing an intersection. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Friday night, according to online jail records.
On the same day, deputies made three other drug-related arrests, according to another news release.
Travis Tanner, 51, of Hoschton, was arrested on felony probation violation, with his original charges being possession of meth and marijuana, the release said. Christopher James Willis, 27, of Pendergrass, was arrested on charges of possession of hydrocodone and not keeping drugs in their original container. Thomas Jordan Key, 28, of Royston also allegedly violated his probation out of Habersham County, which stemmed from possession of marijuana charges.
The three suspects, along with Danny Keither McDougald, 55, of Winder, were arrested at a location in Hoschton, the release said. McDougald is also accused of violating his probation out of Barrow County, which is tied to a traffic offense.
They were all booked into the Jackson County Jail.
