Police are searching for a man accused of robbing and stabbing a friend at a Marietta apartment on Christmas Day.

A warrant obtained by AJC.com says Alvaro Zapot stabbed the victim multiple times in the head, neck, abdomen and torso with a kitchen knife before destroying the victim’s phone and locking him in an apartment.

Zapot also took the victim’s keys, Ford F-150 truck and $1,000 from his wallet after stabbing him, the warrant says.

When Marietta police arrived at the apartment, the victim answered the door covered in blood, according to an incident report. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

Marietta police said the incident is considered domestic in nature since the victim described Zapot as a friend.

Anyone with information about this incident or the suspect’s location is asked to contact 770-794-6990 or Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
