A man accused of fighting and robbing a Decatur man outside an apartment complex before fatally shooting him was arrested, DeKalb County officials said.

Authorities arrested Samuel M. Alexander, 26, at his East Point home Wednesday afternoon in Adrian Anderson’s murder, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cynthia Williams said.

Anderson, 37, was standing outside his car with another man about 3 a.m. July 7 at the Waterford Manor apartments on Covington Highway when DeKalb County police say an armed Alexander tried to rob him.

The two got into a fight before Anderson was shot multiple times and died at the scene, police said.

Alexander remains in the DeKalb County jail on murder and armed robbery charges.
