A man crashed into a LaGrange liquor store before stealing $2,000 worth of alcohol, Channel 2 Action News reported.

A man drove a stolen car into a LaGrange liquor store and took $2,000 worth of alcohol on Christmas Day, police said.

The incident, captured by a security camera, showed the suspect throwing a rock into a window at the Northside Package Store on New Franklin Road, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The suspect then got inside the car and drove it into the store before taking multiple cases of Hennessy, LaGrange police told Channel 2.

The store owner, Dharmendra Patel, told the news station it will take $15,000 to $20,000 to fix the damages.

“They broke glasses, the door and the wall and they stole three boxes of Hennessy,” Patel said.

The car used during the incident was allegedly stolen from a nearby used car dealership, police said. The dealership owners said the man broke into four vehicles and also stole electronics, Channel 2 reported.

Patel told the news station he spent all Christmas day and night guarding the store because lumber stores were closed.

“I want to spend some time with the family and friends, and I already had plans on Christmas Day, and it’s all messed up,” he said.

The suspect left the car in a nearby apartment complex. It has since been returned to the used car dealership, according to the news station. A suspect has not been arrested.
