A 19-year-old was killed after his friend accidentally shot him in the stomach Tuesday night, Atlanta police said.

The shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. in the 300 block of Fairburn Road in the southwest part of the city.

Marshall Crowder was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Atlanta police Officer Stephanie Brown said.

Police are continuing their investigation.
