Atlanta police believe a driver who was fatally shot in the head on I-20 last week was on a date before his killing.

Now, they’re looking for the woman who Rodrigo Castillo was possibly last seen with Friday night.

Investigators believe the woman may be a graduate student from a local college, perhaps Emory University or Georgia State University, Atlanta police Officer John Chafee said in a statement.

Police said Castillo may have met the woman on a dating app, either Bumble or Coffee Meets Bagel.

“At this time, investigators do not believe she is involved in the homicide but they would like to speak with her in hopes she may be able to provide information that would further the investigation,” Chafee said.

Castillo, 33, of Mableton, was shot just after midnight while driving his Silver Volkswagen Jetta in the westbound lanes near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

Castillo was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but died late Friday evening.

Police are asking anyone who may know the woman to call Atlanta police at 404-895-1083 or 404-546-2589. Tipsters can also contact the department’s homicide unit at 404-546-4235.
