A woman faces theft charges after authorities say she stole an engagement ring and a wedding band from a couple whose home she was cleaning, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Lillian Harshaw allegedly stole the items, worth a combined $12,000, and pawned them June 26, according to Channel 2. Harshaw, who was hired by Sandi Cleaning Services in Marietta two weeks before the alleged theft, has been fired.

Police identified Harshaw as the suspect using her identification and fingerprints provided to the pawn shop, Channel 2 reported.

J.W. Kim, owner of the cleaning service, told Channel 2 that Harshaw sent him a text message saying she’d been arrested. Kim said Harshaw passed a background check and had no prior felonies or even a speeding ticket, Channel 2 reported.

Kim said he is worried other clients may have been victimized and has contacted them, asking them to check for missing items.

“I don’t want to lose them, I’m trying to be transparent,” he told Channel 2. “I’m not a judge.”

Harshaw is out of the Cobb County jail on a $16,000 bond.
