Authorities are searching for two men who broke into a Hall County home, pistol-whipped a resident and stole “a large amount of cash.”

The burglars broke inside the Chattahoochee Street home in Lula through the front door just before 5 a.m. Monday, Hall County sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said in a statement.

Wilbanks said the men pistol-whipped a resident watching TV in the living. The victim suffered a laceration to the head.

The other intruder forced a second person to open a safe inside the home.

The thieves made off with an undisclosed amount.

Wilbanks said the suspects are described as middle-aged men and a third person may have been the getaway driver.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Hall County Sheirff’s Inv. Ayers at 770-533-7187. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling 770-503-3232
