A man and a teenager were arrested this week in the deadly shooting of a 17-year-old at a Clayton County home, authorities said.

Dantae Lamar Jones, 22, and an unidentified teen face murder charges after Jalen Camron was found face down next to a Gristmill Court home Saturday evening, Clayton County police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said. The 16-year-old suspect’s identity is being held until officials decide if he will be charged as an adult.

Police identified Jones as a suspect before discovering a second person was also connected to the crime.

Officers initially went to the home regarding a suspicious person call. Once they arrived, a 911 caller told police they heard two pops.

The caller also said “there was banging at a rear door and a person could be heard screaming for help,” Marbury said.

Camron was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clayton County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jones on Monday after he barricaded himself inside a Gordon County hotel. The 16-year-old was arrested Tuesday.

No other details were released.
