A jury found three men guilty of murder and home invasion Monday, according to a release from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.
The men – Larry Ivory, 22, Tony Rucker, 21, and Aaron Simmons, 20 — were also found guilty of participating in criminal street gang activity and gun charges in 29-year-old Deontavious Wright’s death.
In March 2015, Ivory, Rucker and Simmons forced their way inside Wright’s Hagos Park apartment in southwest Atlanta and stole $400 cash, according to the release. Wright was a well-known drug dealer in the area at the time.
Drugs and cellphones from three other people who were inside the apartment were also stolen.
After the men stole the items, Simmons told Rucker to shoot Wright. He later died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
The men were identified by the surviving witness.
All three men were sentenced to 17 years in prison.
