A College Park man died after crashing into a tree while riding an all-terrain vehicle in a California winery Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Charles Eric Kincade, 35, was riding a four-wheeler on an asphalt roadway on the property of Vine Cliff Winery off Silverado Trail in Napa County, California Highway Patrol told the San Francisco Chronicle.

About 5:30 p.m., he lost control of the ATV, crashing into a tree, the newspaper reported. There were no witnesses, but a vineyard worker heard the crash and found Kincade unconscious on the ground, CHP said.

He had a head wound, and he later died at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, the Chronicle reported.
