An Alabama man accused of robbing a Mableton bank after passing a note to the teller Friday morning has been caught, authorities said.

Police arrested 45-year-old Kenyatta Ashley at an Austell motel Saturday morning and charged him with robbing the Wells Fargo on Floyd Road, Cobb police spokeswoman Officer Sydney Melton said.

Police said Ashley entered the bank about 9:50 a.m. and handed a note to the teller demanding cash. He then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, authorities said.

Police caught up to the Montgomery man at the Budget Inn on Blair Ridge Road near Six Flags, jail records show.

Ashley is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on a $22,220 bond.
