A Smyrna man is accused of trying to convince a 14-year-old girl to meet him at a McDonald’s restroom for sex through text messages.
It turns out he was texting an undercover cop, according to Marietta police.
Opeoluwa Adedeji Adesokan, 20, faces a felony charge after sending the messages and going to the meeting place Thursday, according to an arrest warrant obtained by AJC.com.
On Jan. 31, an undercover detective spotted an online post allegedly made by Adesokan, and the detective responded. The online chat developed into texting, where the detective said he was a 14-year-old girl.
Adesokan kept messaging the detective, eventually saying he wanted to meet at the restaurant off Whitlock Avenue in Marietta for sex, the warrant said. When he arrived about 5:30 p.m., he was detained by police.
The warrant said he admitted to texting and trying to meet a 14-year-old girl. He was charged with a count of computer pornography for allegedly exploiting a child, Cobb jail records show.
He was given a $25,000 bond on the condition that he has no contact with a child under the age of 16, according to the bond order obtained by AJC.com.
