A Cobb County man has been charged in a crash that killed a 50-year-old on a motorcycle four months ago, according to police.

Stanley Keith Anderson, 27, was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and failure to yield for his role in the February crash on the East-West Connector near Austell, Cobb police said. Anderson surrendered Monday evening and was later released after posting a $2,000 bond, jail records show.

According to investigators, Anderson was driving a Toyota Tacoma and turned into the path of a 2013 Harley-Davidson, driven by 50-year-old Steven Fitzgerald of Marietta, near the Tramore Village Apartments.

“When the Tacoma turned left in front of the motorcycle, the front of the Harley crashed into the right side of the Toyota,” police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk said in a news release after the crash.

Fitzgerald died at the scene, according to police. Anderson and a passenger in the Tacoma were seriously injured in the crash, which happened around 7:20 p.m.
