A Cobb County man is in jail after authorities said he groped and kissed a special needs student who came to his yard to play with his puppies.

William Turner, 50, is charged with several crimes including sexual battery, officials told Channel 2 Action News.

Investigators told Channel 2 the 17-year-old student was dropped off at Skyview Haven Academy in an Uber on Jan. 18. Instead of going to school, the student walked to Turner’s house across Dunn Road to play with the dogs, police said.

Authorities said Turner invited the student into his home, and once there showed the student porn, offered alcohol and made unwanted sexual advances.

Turner is also accused of groping and kissing the student, Channel 2 reported.

A spokesman for Cobb County schools told Channel 2 in a statement that it is aware of the situation.

Turner is being held in the Cobb County Jail.
