The Clayton County sheriff announced Thursday that his department has arrested more than 300 people in its pursuit of four men suspected of shooting an Uber driver in June.

The suspects remain at large and the sheriff’s office continues to investigate the shooting.

The arrests are part of a crackdown by Victor Hill’s department dubbed “Operation Carmen,” named after Uber driver Carmen Swain. The operation has also led to the seizure of 46 guns and the recovery of 16 stolen cars, Hill’s office said in a news release.

Swain, 33, was shot by four men in a suspected carjacking after picking them up for an Uber ride the night of June 12. She continues to fight for her life, according to Hill’s statement.

GoFundMe page created to benefit Swain said she remains in intensive care after suffering a critical spinal cord injury.

At the time of the shooting, an Uber spokesperson confirmed that Swain was one of the company’s drivers.

“What’s been reported is devastating and our thoughts are with the driver and her loved ones during this difficult time,” the statement said. “We stand ready to work with law enforcement to assist with their investigation.”

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 770-477-4479, Clayton police or leave an anonymous tip through the online Nixle tip line.
