The GBI identified Wednesday a 43-year-old man found shot to death in Cherokee County.

Bryan Overseth of Big Fork, Montana, was visiting family and friends in the Harmony on the Lakes subdivision of Holly Springs, Det. Greg Bettis told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Police found Overseth’s body shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday on what Bettis described as a private access road. Overseth's death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police have been aggressively interviewing people and pursuing leads, Bettis said.
